We have won another appeal in the South Norfolk Rural Policy Area.

This is for the erection of 4-bedroom self-build dwelling and garage in Chedgrave.

We produced a detailed ‘planning appeal statement’ that argued against the council’s reasons for refusal. The main reasons were the effect of the proposed development on the character and appearance of the area bearing in mind it would be within the setting of the grade II listed building, and whether the proposed development would amount to sustainable development having regard to the development plan and the national planning policy framework (the framework).

The inspector found no significant environmental harm, and found there are overriding economic and social benefits which override the fact the proposal is outside of the settlement boundary. The Inspector found the proposed development would amount to sustainable development and would accord with the aims Policy DM1.3 of the DMPD which seeks to ensure a sustainable pattern of development in the district.

We are extremely pleased with this outcome and wish our clients all the best for the future.
