BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) and the Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH) are industry quality standards that are used to assess the environmental performance of new and existing buildings.
BREEAM assessment methods cover a range of building types including offices, industrial buildings, schools and multi-residential developments. For new housing, the assessment process is known as the Code for Sustainable Homes. Following withdrawal of the Code as a requirement by Local Planning Authorities in 2015, it is not now mandatory for all new homes to be assessed using the Code, some developments with planning permission are still required to do so as part of their conditions.
We can offer the required ecology survey and report to assess BREEAM credits LE01-LE05 (other than the necessary survey work for the contaminated land credit), and for CfSH credit Eco 1.
