Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA)

Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) is the process of identifying, measuring and assessing the potential effects of a development or other proposed actions on species and their habitats and ecosystems.

Particularly for larger projects, which meet the criteria of EcIA the findings of this can help authorities understand ecological issues when determining planning applications. The EcIA applies ecological survey data to either produce this stand-alone report or to produce the Ecology Chapter of an EIA Environmental Statement.
