Based: Norwich – Head Office – 13-15 Cathedral Street, Norwich, NR1 1LU – Working From Home Fridays.

Parker Planning Services are on the look-out for commercially minded, personable, and talented people to join our team. We are looking to appoint an experienced and qualified member of staff to work on a wide range of projects for our growing client-base, and pipeline of work. This is the ideal role for a Planner wishing to progress their career and we are able to accommodate different levels of experience and expertise. Our success is due to our excellent welcoming team, our valued regular clients and our diversity of projects; both large and small, and across a wide range of industry sectors.

You will be working as part of a small and dynamic team. The successful candidates will work on a broad range of planning projects, using their professional and technical knowledge to plan and deliver planning projects in a timely and professional manner, mainly within Norfolk but may also include projects across East Anglia and further afield.

Key Role Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct research site appraisals and visits on projects for existing and potential clients
  • Assist with preparing Fee Quotes
  • Prepare and submit reports and statements and carry out on-going negotiations for planning applications and appeals – large and small, and of varying complexity
  • Manage all other planning matters associated with all stages of the planning process
  • Develop on-going client relationships and co-ordinate specialist services relating to your projects
  • Working with the wider Planning Team and office staff across the business
  • Maintaining and updating accurate records
  • Timely and accurate completion of weekly timesheets

Candidate Specification

Relevant Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Chartered Member of the RTPI or working towards this (desirable)
  • Experience working in the private sector (desirable)
  • 2 or more years experience (essential)

We will also consider applicants with other relevant technical experience/qualifications from related disciplines.

  • Strong project management skills, and demonstrable history of producing and submitting high-quality reports, and in a timely fashion (essential)
  • A professional, personable and dedicated team member (essential)
  • Be confident in working as part of the wider team and using your own initiative. (essential)
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral (essential)
  • Positively contribute to the companies wider aims of objectives (essential)

The Company:

Our head office is based in Norwich, covering projects in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge, Essex, Lincolnshire and occasional projects further afield. Our team is led and supported by the Principal Planning Manager with the support of the Managing Director, who oversees all company operations in East Anglia. We also have inhouse Heritage and Archaeological Consultants and support staff in Administration, Marketing and Finance.
