Parker Planning Services has successfully won another planning appeal. This major solar development project was approved for the site at Over Farm Market, Over, Gloucester. Here the issues were the effect of the development on the character and appearance of the area, and the effect on the settings of listed buildings and other heritage assets. The environmental and economic benefits of the scheme were proven to be sufficient to outweigh any harm that might be caused.
Parker Planning Services intervened and then fully detailed how the proposal would add benefit to the area. The production of the ground mounted solar PV generation project of up to 5.6 MW of renewable energy would produce enough energy for approximately 1697 homes.
So we clearly demonstrated how the development would lead to a significant and useful increase in solar renewable energy in the Tewkesbury and Gloucester area.
Parker Planning Services are really happy with this outcome as it means our client has the permission needed to start producing energy and an income but also means the UK can benefit from more renewable energy.
