A brood of poultry development projects have recently flown our way. We’re currently busy working on a handful of poultry development applications, for a range of clients – across all stages of the planning application process: from the ‘cradle to the end’ stages. These include Feasibility, Screening and scoping processes, completing the full Environmental Impact assessments and the Submission of the planning application and Determination process thereafter. So we’re actively contributing to every planning related aspect of the Poultry industry and development process.
Here we’ve worked in-house with our specialist services team to provide the clients with a turnkey solution. For example: Our ecology team are used routinely to conduct any required ecology surveys or assessments (eg: bat and roosting surveys) , and our heritage team have supplied additional relevant assessments and services (eg: Heritage Statements & Impact Assessments) when needed.
On some projects, we’ve produced full Environmental Impact assessments (or Statements) when the client has needed to commission and produce these as part of their full submission to planning. We work with carefully appointed external consultants to manage the additional technical services including noise, odour and ammonia assessments.
These projects include both broiler and free-range chicken projects – which reflect very different types of projects. The first requiring large sheds and the second requiring environmental and outdoor landscaping analysis: eg: feeding facilities.
On average we’re finding the average turnaround time for such projects can be between 6 months to over a year – so we anticipate the decisions on a handful of these projects in the coming weeks and months.
