Castle Point Borough Council’s Local Plan Withdrawn – What does this mean for me?

Castle Point Borough Council are the latest Authority to withdraw their Local Plan, and will work on a new Local Plan that reflects the stated aims of:

  • Protecting and preserving the precious green belt.
  • Establishing a housing target that genuinely reflects local need.
  • Prioritising brownfield sites for housing developments.

A programme for the preparation of a new Local Plan will be agreed by the Council in due course, and our Planning Policy Specialist, Magnus will be on hand to advise you on how best to promote your site during the Local Plan preparation process.

With the Council’s existing or ‘extant’ Local Plan and policies increasingly ‘outdated’, and with the new Local Plan now some way off adoption, there is perhaps no better time to advance a planning application within the Borough..
