Associate Principal Ecologist
Danny is a well-respected Chartered Ecologist and Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). He has over 20 years’ experience in ecology and has worked in professional consultancy for over 15 years. Danny is a protected species ecologist specialising in ornithology. He holds survey licences for great crested newts, dormice, bats and a Schedule 1 disturbance licence for species including barn owl, woodlark and marsh harrier and holds a water vole displacement licence for small scale water vole mitigation. Danny has extensive project management experience, managing the ecological requirements for projects ranging from small scale developments such as barn conversions up to large scale multimillion pound infrastructure projects and multi-phase housing developments.
Danny is our technical lead in Ecology and has extensive experience with complex ecological evaluations such as Habitat Regulation Assessments (HRA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), Environmental Statements (ES) and scoping reports for client projects. He provides training and CPD sessions for clients and other ecologists and works closely with other consultancies to improve the standard of survey and reporting within the industry.
Life outside Parker Planning Services
Danny spends much of his spare time with his family but tries to fit in as much bird-watching as possible and he is also a keen sailor with several boats and canoes at his disposal.
