Principal Planning Manager

Jonny was promoted to Principal Planning Manager for the Suffolk Office, based in Bury St Edmunds in March 2021, having joined Parker Planning Services as Senior Planning Consultant in 2019.

Recently, Jonny has achieved approval for a range of major applications including intensive agriculture and energy developments, all requiring accompanying Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

During the nine years he worked in the private sector – Jonny prepared Environmental Impact Assessments and planning applications for 215MW renewable energy projects.

In addition he has four years experience of working for Local Authorities which re-validated Jonny’s working knowledge of the planning system through the processing of around 1300 planning applications. Jonny worked for Cambridgeshire County Council on Greater Cambridgeshire Partnership schemes including the Chisholm Trail, Park and Ride sites and the new Civic Hub to house Cambridge County Council.

Life outside Parker Planning Services

Jonny thrives in wild places, enjoying running, cycling and bird watching in Suffolk. Further afield adventures to date have taken place in India, the Himalayan foothills, Artic Norway and hours spent on the Lake District fells and Scottish Highlands. In 2017 Jonny walked the length of Spain, from Tarifa beach in the South to Gijon in the North – 704.5 miles in 28 consecutive days – as the third element of ‘Dove Step’, his fundraising project to save the Turtle Dove.
