Public Consultation for the Proposed Change of Use from Office Use (Class E) to Hotel Use (Class C1) at Gredley House, Stratford, London, E15 4BQ

The purpose of this consultation is to inform the nearby residents and interested stakeholders, and to provide an early opportunity for people to comment on emerging proposals for the development that incorporates:

CONVERSION OF EXISTING OFFICE TO HOTEL

The application site is located on the southeast side of The Broadway, Stratford. The site comprises a red brick/stone clad building, 5 storeys in height and covers a floor area of approximately 4,656 sqm. It is understood that the building is currently unoccupied and was previously used as offices.

The proposal would look to convert the existing office space to a hotel which would look to provide 151 hotel rooms with 98 of the rooms being double rooms, 37 being family rooms and 16 being accessible rooms. In terms of changes to the external appearance of the building, there will be few changes to the overall appearance as the majority of the changes are internal. The only external changes would be relocating the existing air conditioning units from the roof into the existing large plant room located on the roof together with the addition of the hotel signage (which is not included as part of this application).

Pedestrian access to the site is currently available from the Broadway and Chant Street and will use the existing main entrance of the offices into the hotel’s main entrance. Vehicular access is available from the Chant Street entrance with parking to the rear of the property. Deliveries and other servicing arrangements will not be altered and access will be available from the Chant Street entrance also to allow the servicing vehicles to exit in forward gear.
